A Peregrine Falcon fledgling came crashing down at Sydney airport earlier this week and was rescued by WIRES.

Three juvenile kookaburra chicks were rescued this week when their nest collapsed. The nest was in a termite mound high in a tree in northern Sydney. Perhaps due to heavy weekend rain the termite mound collapsed and the three chicks found themselves homeless.

This little Pademelon joey lost her mum due to a domestic dog chasing mum through the bush and although mum was not caught by the dog she dropped her little joey in the chase.

This Koala was called into the WIRES hotline after a member of the public, Peter, came out to see what all the noise was about. He had heard two male koalas having a bit of a fight, up a nearby eucalypt but upon investigating further, he came upon another....

This Saw shelled turtle was brought in to care after it had been caught on a fishing line. Lismore Veterinary clinic operated on the turtle and removed a fishing hook from it's throat. It was kept in care for some time, untill the carer was sure it could feed itself with no problems, and the throat had healed.

Thanks to the sharp eyes of a tour bus operator, this fledgling Wedge-tailed Eagle was spotted on the ground near Ulong, in the hills west of Coffs Harbour.
