NSW Bushfires

Friday, March 20, 2015

WIRES would like to thank everyone for their very generous donations and other offers of help, both during and since the bushfires.

It is important for people who live in areas where fires have been to think about leaving out bowls of water out for animals escaping the fires and keeping cats and dogs inside and under control wherever possible.

It is also important to leave shallow bowls of fresh water out around your property on days of high temperatures especially when there has been so little rain recently.

You can also keep a cardboard box and towel in the boot of your car in case you find an injured animal.

If you do rescue an animal that has been burnt, wrap it loosely, place it in a cardboard box, keep it in a dark, quiet and warm place and do not try and feed the animal, however you can offer water.

Call WIRES 1300 094 737 as soon as possible for advice and assistance.
